For the fourth this year we went to a fun parade in Pasco. The kids had a great time.
We had planned on having a few families over for a BBQ but a stomach bug has been going around and hit everyone but us. We still had fun staying home by ourselves and lighting our own fireworks.
We did have a close call with Morgan though. She was holding a sparkler above her head and a big piece fell right into her eye! It was pretty scary and we almost went to the ER but she was able to open her eye and let us check it out. Luckily she must have closed her eye right before it hit because she had little burns on her upper and lower eye lids. She was perfectly content to sit on my lap with a cool cloth over her eye and watch the rest of the fireworks. (it wasn't even swollen the next day. It has now healed and there's not even a scar) Close call!
After our fireworks were over Kayden said 'how come our fireworks are just little?'. He was quite disappointed the we didn't have the huge exploding ones we could see in the valleys below us.
