And the baby is a....

Girl!!!!!!!

We are so excited. I knew that I was having a boy when I was pregnant with Kayden. Just call it mother's intuition. So this time, when I had a feeling it was a girl I wasn't sure if it was just hope or if it was the same thing I felt before. I guess it was the same thing!! Also, with Kayden we had his name picked out even before I got pregnant but we couldn't agree on a girl name. It's exactly the opposite this time. We have a couple of great girl names picked but can't agree on a boy's. Crazy.
Here are some of the wonderful ultrasound pics we got this morning.
This one is the 'girl' pic. The three little lines in the circle are the girl parts. Kind of hard to see but it's definately different than Kayden's 'boy' pic!
This is my favorite. I love the view of the little miniature foot. So sweet.

25 Random Facts

This is the tag that's going around Facebook. It took me forever to do so I figured I'd put it on here too. Enjoy!

1. I am left handed and love it.
2. I am NOT a morning person.
3. Being a mom is easier than I thought it would be. We'll see what I have to say about that in a few months though!
4. In the first 2 years I had my license I wrecked 5 times and totalled 2 cars.
5. I am not at all against plastic surgery. When I'm done having kids I plan on helping myself 'up'!
6. I love love love Diet Coke. But when I'm pregnant it doesn't taste good. Very sad.
7. I am a completely different person than I was 7 years ago. And that's a really really good thing!
8. I am paranoid about what people think about me. I liked to be liked.
9. I have a hard time understanding when people tell me marriage is hard, especially the first year. That was our best year! I love being married. I couldn't be happier.
10. I am addicted to TV. The best invention ever is DVR. I think I have about 15 timers set. I know. Sad.
11. It takes me forever to peel an orange. I have to get all the gross white stuff off before I can eat it. And because it takes me so long I hate sharing even one piece.
12. I don't like some of the classic shows others like. Shows like 'A Christmas Story', 'The Sandlot', and 'Sinfield'. People think I'm crazy but I just can't stand them.
13. I love novelty socks. The only white socks I own are my workout ankle socks. The rest are fun socks.
14. I have a really bad memory. If I could change anything about myself, it would be that.
15. I love love love to read. It can be a problem if I find a really good book. It drives Tyler nuts. And I can read a book over and over again. That's due to my terrible memory. It's fun to go back and see what I've forgotten
16. I hate reality shows. Any type.
17. I could drink hot chocolate at anytime of year. I love it. Even when we lived in St. George I would drink it in the summer. Mmm, delicious.
18. Family means a lot to me. There is nothing better than spending time with family.
19. I eat my steak medium rare. It just melts in your mouth.
20. I have road rage issues. I really need to be better now that Kayden is at an impressionable age, but there are just so many idiots out there!
21. I eat very slowly. Even in elementary and middle school my friends would leave me at lunch and go play because I took to long. I was almost always one of the last ones to finish. And when I would try to eat as fast as I could I would still just finish at the same time as everyone else. I still don't know why.
22. When I was pregnant with Kayden I craved peaches. The whole time. This time I'm craving grapefruit.
23. I love horror movies. And stories. And anything to do with the paranormal. It facinates me, but I'm still not sure if I believe in it.
24. I love taking naps but it takes me so long to fall asleep that it has to be at least 2 hours or it's not worth it!
25. I have a big mouth and often share way too much.

Playing Catch Up

We've been home for a week and a half and I'm just barely getting to updating my poor neglected blog. It was a wonderful vacation and long enough to where we were ready to come home. Instead of doing a massive post on everything we did, I will just list the highlights. I left my camera at my mom's so until I get that back, there will be no pictures. Sorry!

  • Tyler's extended family Christmas party - This is an annual event where we are able to see family we see once a year or less. It's lots of fun with lots of great food. The great-grandkids always put on a cute little nativity and there is always a talent show for everyone who wants to participate.
  • Lots of family time!! - We were able to spend a lot of time with both sides of our family. I love how well we get along with everybody, we all have such a good time!
  • Happy New Year! - We spent the night at Justin and Sherrie's house (Tyler's sister). I guess we're getting old cuz we were in bed before the ball dropped!
  • My brother got engaged! - And it's about time! Just kidding. They met in St. George before his mission and they just collided when he got home. We love her so much. She's a blast! The big day is May 21st so we are already planning another trip back to Utah.
  • Kayden is walking! - That's right. My baby is walkin' all over the place. Since we've been home he has just been walking in circles around us. He's so cute.
  • Kayden's first birthday - I can't believe he's one! We had a family birthday party for him about a week and a half before his actual birthday because Tyler had to leave for Texas for school. We had a great turnout and loved getting both our families together. Kayden had fun opening his presents but when it came to his cake he was ready for bed and quite ornery so he didn't really want to dig in. It was still a great day though.
  • I felt the baby move! - I felt Kayden move when I was 16 1/2 weeks along. I felt this baby at 15 1/2! I'm now 17 weeks and except for being tired I'm feeling pretty good. We can't wait until we find out what we're having so we don't have to call it 'it' anymore. We have the ultrasound scheduled for Feb. 24th. Can't wait.
Well that's pretty much about it. Our month in a nutshell. Now that I'm back in the swing of things for the most part I'll be posting more often again.
