Our very good friends from St. George have been trying for a long time to have children. Unfortunately they haven't been successful so, through a lot of discussion and prayer, they have decided to try to adopt. They have put in an application to LDS Family Services and are expecting to be approved in the next couple of weeks. Then the waiting begins. They were told by their social worker that more than half of adoptions happen through friends and family, and their acquaintances. We are hoping to be some kind of help to them. They are the best of friends and would be the most wonderful parents. They have started a blog with information about themselves and their journey and are trying to share it with as many people as possible. Some of the best people to get the word out to, is the youth. They know who is prego in the school.
I'll keep my ears open...hope their adoption journey is quick and painless!!

We have some friends that are in the same boat, and they have found that looking for a sibling group to adopt is almost more successful than trying to find a single child. People generally don't want more than one child at a time, but there are so many orphaned siblings that are needing parents and are stuck in the foster care system for this reason. God bless your friends, and my hope and prayers goes out to them!
