Christmas 2012

We had a great Christmas at home. It was our first Christmas at home with kids so it made it quite stressful at first trying to figure out how to do things.
-Tyler's family would set every gift under the tree and they would all just dive in and open everything at once. Most gifts were from parents with a couple each from Santa.
-In my family we would each set out our stocking on Christmas Eve where we wanted Santa to put our pile of presents then we would open them one by one, watching each other to see what we got. And everything was from "Santa".
So we finally decided to combine our traditions. "Santa" brings 4 presents each (plus filled stockings) and puts them where we laid out our stockings
Something you want
Something you need
Something to play with (or 'Something to wear' depending on the year)
Something to read
The we also got them a few presents from us and they each got one another presents. All of that, plus presents from relatives and friends, goes under the tree. Then we open presents one at a time. One thing we didn't disagree on was that everything is wrapped. Even though it takes SOOOO long to wrap it all it is just so much fun to excitedly open each present. The kids were so excited for each other. Especially when they were opening what they got each other. I love Christmas.

So beautiful!

Tyler was pretty excited to get his race car

The aftermath (I love the green Kayden blur jumping over the pile of presents)

We had a White Christmas! The kids had a blast making a snowman
