Peanut

Yesterday was my first OB appointment. I loved my doc last time, she was amazing. But, because of a change in insurance, I had to switch. So I was meeting my new doc for the first time. Two of my friends have recently had babies and they both used her and loved her.

After waiting a few minutes in the lobby they called me back, weighed me(I haven't gained one pound yet!), took my bp, had me pee in a cup, then gave me the wonderful paper 'gown' to put on. After waiting for a while in the drafty room my doc, Dr. S, came in. I love her!! She is so nice. She does everything possible to be there for her patients the whole pregnancy through. (Leann told me Dr. S even cancelled a trip to visit family because she knew Leann was so close to labor!) Anyway, she told me that it was unlikely we would hear the heartbeat since I'm only 10 weeks and 2 days along and the earliest she's heard it has been 11 weeks. I told her that we heard Kayden's at 10 weeks so she said she was more than happy to try. And guess what...we heard it!!! She was impressed, it's a strong baby!!

She had me schedule an ultrasound for the next day (today) to check dates. It's all so real now! It just looks like a little peanut but it was moving all around and waving it's arms. So cute! It's only about 2 inches long but we saw the heart and arm. The ultrasound tech said it looks very healthy! (The head's on the left and you can see a little hand on top)

So I'm feeling ok. Still sicker than last time but I'm ok. I've already upgraded to my fat pants. I still fit in my skinny jeans just fine but the tightness is uncomfortable. So now I'm walking around hoping my pants don't fall down. But I'm comfy!!

What a great ultra sound picture, not that I'm an expert or anything, just an opinion. I'm not some crazy blog stocker, I'm Natalie's husband.

Oh Cute! I love those ultrasound pictures and they seem to make more sense early on. The little one looks like he/she is posing for the 'camera'.

I hope the morning sickness goes away soon.

I'm glad you found a doctor you like. The doctor we had with our twins was a Bishop (in Oregon) and he actually left the stand on a Sunday to come to the hospital to be the one to deliver my very preemie babies. Good thing too because they needed an immediate priesthood blessing and it would have been hard to find another priesthood holder (besides the hub) if he had not been there.

That is so cute! It makes me want to have another one, which isn't good since Annaliese is only 3 months old! I loved being pregnant! I hope you feel better and the sickness goes away! Maybe you are having your girl! That would be awesome!

I, on the other hand, did NOT love being pregnant. I love my kids, and I love babies, but it's truly a relief to be past that stage in my life! [KNOCK ON WOOD...!]

I am truly excited for you, however, and I am laying a small wager (not money, I promise) that this baby is a girl. I'm not going to unleash my reasons for thinking so, because that would also open the Pandora's Box that contains all my personal pregnancy stories which you probably DON'T want to hear. But I do have four girls myself, and even though I've never had a boy, I have a pretty good feeling about this.....

And if I'm wrong, you're still getting a quilt.

What a cute little babe! It is always so exciting to see the first pictures and hear the heartbeat. I'm still pulling for a girl so that Paige will have a girl cousin to play with, and so I have someone to give all her hand-me-downs to.

I love the first pictures, cause like you said it makes it all so real. The test says yes, but the picture says it all. Congratulations!

Way to go on not gaining a pound! I had gained 6 before my first appointment. Wow. Your lil' peanut is so cute! That was a good pic too. So the thing that was the craziest to me was holding a ruler up to my belly and seing how big he was against the size of me. It's just so amazing that they are so detailed and their hearts can beat when they are that small. We are so excited for you and way excited to know what you are having!
